I took the plunge over the weekend.

I bought a low budget organ from a local on craigslist for $25 a couple of weeks ago. The guy had it working when my son and I pulled up. It was in need of of a lot of work or could have been stripped for parts. A good amp, 8 and 10 inch speaker and the bass unit worked fine and 12 AU tubes had me over the top. I asked a tech to evaluate it for repair. It wasn't feasible. A few days later when I went to pick it up and pay him a 1/2 hour of shop time, he again showed me a Hammond L-100, nice unit played by a little old lady!!!, he had. His offer was a $100 off the price he had given me a week earlier plus I keep the $40 of his shop in trade for the parts organ on the L-100.
I bit like a hungry Redfish after a shiner.
