What about the blues club(s) in your area? Any worth visiting? Blues festivals or events?

Most famous, bluesless hometown

I have moved so much that my "home town" seems to be where I hang my hat. Since I moved for the job which had nothing to do with music, I rarely found myself in a place where blues music thrived. Now I find myself in the unique position that I live where there is no blues, none to speak of yet in the same town I have the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and more. Yes, I live in that paragon of tastelessness, Las Vegas. You can be into a lot of things and have a lot to do here but if it is the blues, forget it. The one blues show we saw here a few years back actually had an Elvis imitator, not even doing his bluesier stuff. Meh. And House of Blues or BB Kings here? Fuggedaboudit. Those two are two of the most famous blues clubs that never actually play any blues....Image
