Here are two examples of House playing Death Letter:

he certainly had a style, whacking the guitar like that! Some of the arm-swinging is showmanship, I think, rather than "playing hard." The notes are easy enough to folow either in open G or standard, but relaying that emotion is nigh on impossible. Rory Block does an interesting job of it, but her sound is still that of a middle-class white girl from NY (says the middle class white boy from NY). We can work on the achieving the sound of the masters, but I don't think we can replicate it until we've led the lives they did.
