It,s been my experience that refinishing,re-covering a vintage will hurt the value instead of improve it unless it's REALLY shabby.If you can't stand looking at it,if you can get it re-covered by a Fender auth. repair shop will help..I sold a guy a Rivera amp a couple of years ago that had been "voiced" by Howard Dumble.I can't remembered,I think it was a JRM 1.He had it re-covered and a bunch of guys had a cow,He was happy and I could less.I've had more experience with guitars,and the original finish is almost always worth more.
