Here's a little demo of the kit that I use for Old Timey Blues and Jazz gigs-looks and sounds cool and easy to pack

i've been working with a guy who uses a vintage snare on a stand and a 30 yr old road case in a home made bracket with a bass pedal attached. there's a foam wrapped mic in the case to add bass in the p.a. bu it sounds good acoustically too. the only other percussion stuff he has is a few tambourines but he's also working on washboard for some songs.

Yes Goldbrick, it sounds good, looks good too, wise use of materials.
Portable for sure, PLUS you use one of those brushes for putting on your shaving suds before you pack up for the gig, and when you get there you can use the other brush to sweep off and tidy up the sidewalk for a clean presentation.
Very practical.
